Following on from the success of the 2009 NFL Netball competition, 2010 will see a similar format with games being held on Friday nights. The only change for the season will be the inclusion of more games as more clubs want to be involved in the fantastic competition.

The first time these sides met was in Round 7, when Macleod took victory by one goal after scoring with just seconds left on the clock. Contrastingly, when they met in the Semi Finals just two weeks ago, Diamond Creek took the win by a staggering fourteen goals. So with one win a piece heading into the Grand Final, it was sure to be an exciting showdown.

It was standing room only inside the Netball Centre on Friday night, with spectators of all ages turning out to support their local clubs. Lalor were the undefeated favourites heading into the Grand Final clash against Epping. The teams met in Rounds 7 and 14, and on both occasions Lalor defeated Epping by six and 11 goals respectively. And when they met a fortnight ago in the Semi Finals, Lalor once again triumphed by 13 goals. However, when it comes to the Grand Final, it doesn't matter what has happened throughout the season or what position you were in on the ladder. It all comes down to this one deciding match.

After a disastrous preliminary final, Macleod had a point to prove heading into this week's match against North Heidelberg A. After being shaken by Diamond Creek, everyone was keen to see whether Macleod had regrouped. Well, for everyone who was there on Friday night, it was clear they had. Macleod led at every break and won the match by a decisive seven goals. This win will hopefully give them the confidence boost they need going into next week's Grand Final against Diamond Creek.
