 The Northern Football League has extended its three umpire system to not only include three field and three boundary umpires being appointed to Division One Senior Finals again in 2009, but also in both the Division Two and Division Three Senior Finals as well.

Coutts To Bring Up 500th Game In Charge |

 This Sunday, Neville Coutts will join an elite group of goal umpires who have brought up a significant milestone in the league, following in the footsteps of Terry Maher and Dick Norman before him. Coutts came across to the then Diamond Valley Football League in 1984 - originally as a field umpire following on from his days in the Northern Metropolitan Football League - and when he waves the flags in the Round 17 Senior game between Montmorency and Greensborough, he will be doing so for the 500th time.
