Carelli was a playing assistant coach under Brian Cole this year - his first season at the club. He had previously had illustrious playing stints at Reservoir Lakeside / West Preston, Collingwood, Devonport and Tocumwal - including 205 DVFL/NFL games, DVFL, VFL and MFL representative appearances, a DVFL and Tasmanian FL Best & Fairest, and captain of West Preston-Lakeside's 2003 premiership side over Montmorency. "Carelli brings to Montmorency an enormous wealth of exposure and experience working under great mentors over his time," said Montmorency President Gary Green. "Montmorency is full of excitement with the knowledge that success has followed this man everywhere his footy has taken him," said Green. Carelli will replace the outgoing Cole, who led the club from 2005 to 2009. Cole's record during that time included one Grand Final, two Preliminary and one Semi Final appereance. "Jack's construction of the current list and introduction of Junior members into the Senior team over this time leaves the club in a strong, sustainable position with Carelli taking over the reins," said Green.
