Northern Football League

The Northern Region held the Carlton Super Clinic in wintry conditions on Friday 3rd of July at Zwar Reserve in Preston.  In trying conditions the players that attended did a fantastic job of running 5 stations of skills for the 200+ strong crowd.  It was great to see players such as Nick Stevens and Jarrad Waite entertaining the kids who had come to see their heroes. After a 1 hour skills session the players then hit the change rooms for an autograph and photo session with the supporters. A big thank you must go to the Preston Bullants who did an outstanding job of hosting the event and to the 20 Carlton FC players who attended. Their attitude and enthusiasm with the children participating was outstanding and many supporters left the ground very happy with the events of the day.

The Northern Region hosted the Collingwood Super Clinic on Monday 6th July at Lower Plenty Oval in Greensborough.  A massive crowd of 500+ turned out to see the Collingwood players on a sunny afternoon.  Quality players such as Leon Davis, Scott Pendlebury, Heath Shaw, Jack Anthony, Travis Cloke, Ben Johnson, Taryken Lockyear and Simon Prestigiacomo took 5 skill stations and put the kids through their paces with a series of drills and games.  The oval was a buzz with excitement and after a 1 hour skills session the players headed to the pavilion to sign autographs and take photos with their supporters. Thank you to the Lower Plenty Football Club who hosted the afternoon and thank you to the Collingwood FC who did an outstanding job of entertaining the supporters that came to see them. 

AFL Player Appearances are nearly over for the year with Carlton and Collingwood taking clinics and talks to a huge number of Northern Region students and footballers.
